The Mechanic Who Became a Software Developer
Most garage software is built by tech companies who have never stepped foot inside a workshop. AutoChain is different, it was built by someone who has lived both worlds.
From Apprentice to Branch Manager
My journey started back in 2006 as a Ford apprentice, later sharpening my skills at Rapid Fit and working within the prestige network at Mercedes-Benz. By age 20, I became one of the youngest branch managers at National Tyres, followed by years managing operations for Halfords Autocentres.
From prestige main dealers to fast-paced high-volume centres, I saw the exact same bottlenecks everywhere. We were trapped using outdated MS-DOS systems. I was losing hours every single day writing out jobs, calling parts suppliers, and chasing labour rates.
Building Enterprise Software
In 2015, I hung up my overalls and transitioned into high-level software development. For the next eight years, I built heavy-duty, secure digital systems for global brands and the UK Government.
Then in 2023, while moving house, I uncovered an old ideas notebook from 2015. Inside was the blueprint for AutoChain.
AutoChain Is Born
With a unique combination of real automotive grit and enterprise-grade software expertise, I knew exactly how to bring it to life. We spent years battle-testing it in real garages, from independent bike shops to custom bodywork tuners.
Today in 2026, AutoChain is a fully fledged platform processing thousands of pounds daily for top automotive brands. We didn't just build software; we built the ultimate tool to give garage owners their time and profits back.
